What is "fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing" in latin? no online translator stuff.?

I want to get a tattoo of this quotes in latin.|||Parcae rare nos allegentes vocant

'The Fates (ie the goddesses of fagte) rarely call upon us when we choose.' That is a good translation both in terms of meaning and keeping to the Latin idiom.

As well as its basic meaning of 'call', the verb voco, vocare can also mean call upon or summon, so covers the desired meaning. A poetic alternative for rare (rarely/seldom) would be rarenter, but this seems unnecessarily long-winded to me.

One possible change would depend on your intended meaning of 'fate' - I have taken it to mean fate in a fairly negative manner along the lines of 'you appointed time to die' or similar. If you prefer something a bit more positive, Fortuna would work, with vocant changing to vocat. Given the context however the more negative seems more appropriate.
